Blended hybrid learning occurs when there is a complementary in-person and online component to student learning. Our BCS@Home Hybrid Program takes a hands-on approach to education, with a phenomena- based learning philosophy designed to encourage student creativity and motivate a love for learning. These once-a-week in-person classes are done in conjunction with online activities, such as videos, reflections, and at-home experiments.

During in-person classes, students receive high quality academic instruction, while also forming weekly community connections with their homeschool peers. Hybrid students can also attend co- curricular field trips, workshops and events that run in addition to the Hybrid class time. Students demonstrate attendance to learning through participation and engagement in Hybrid classes and online components.

The hybrid program is a one-day-a-week, face-to-face learning program. This program will fully cover Science, Art, Physical Education and Bible for Grades 1-6, and cover Physical Education, Bible, Health and Options for Grades 7-9. Subjects are taught by certified teachers, in accordance with the Alberta Program of Studies. There are four possible combinations when registering for the Blended-Hybrid Program.

Note: The hybrid program covers 40% of a Grade 1-6 student’s educational program, and 20% of a Grade 7-9 student’s educational program, leaving the remaining percentages to be covered through traditional or distance education. Click here for more information on how shared responsibility percentages work.

For many families this program offers the perfect blend of flexibility, support and community, as families can maintain the flexibility of homeschooling for four days a week, while students experience a fun and engaging school day with their peers one day a week. By having certificated teachers and specialists support student learning outside of the home, science experiments, art projects, physical activities and bible study are done together in a community of peers, easing the parent’s need to cover all subjects at home during the week. Additional Co-Curricular field trips, lessons and classes are available throughout the year on non-hybrid days, offered at reduced cost, as part of the program. These activities include, but are not limited to: swim lessons, ski lessons, golf lessons, baseball lessons, art days at the Leighton Art Centre, valentines crafts for Calgary Seniors, and more! Students build friendships and memories with their peers each week, while parent support groups and socialization opportunities are available on site – book a consultation today to start the registration process.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1686977308695{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1686979319829{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1710957032512{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text] BCS@Home Hybrid Program, Grades 1-12 Blended hybrid learning occurs when there is a complementary in-person and online component to student learning.
