My parents were very excited to have me attend Bearspaw Christian School the year I started Kindergarten. My brother started school at BCS as well and my dad became a board member of the school while we were there on campus.
I am a competitive water skier, as is my brother and my mom and dad. It is a sport that we enjoy doing together as a family. The older I get the more involved in this sport I have become. When I was in grade 2 my parents pulled my brother out of brick and mortar BCS and we became the first family to homeschool through BCS @Home. My mom helped design the program with Mr. Bernhardt and she helped choose the name that still exists today. I think that is kind of cool.
BCS @Home has grown with many students and now offers lots of different activities that we didn’t have when I started. It is neat to see what it has become and I am glad to be a part of it. Being a part of BCS @Home allows me to train for waterskiing in the fall and the spring so I can be more competitive with other skiers and gives me more of an opportunity to reach my goals in making National Teams.

I have been able to train hard these past few years with this longer season and have now been named to a National Team for two different events to represent Canada. I ski on the Canadian U14 Team and in 2016 I went to Chapala, Mexico to ski in the Pan Am Championships, and this year I went to Illinois to ski in the Can Am Championships. I have to keep up my skills as they always choose either the top 4 or top 6 skiers for these teams. Next fall I will be hoping to make the 2018 Pan AM Team for U14 and that will be my last year skiing for U14.
BCS @Home has been a very important part of my childhood and youth and their support has been awesome as I continue to pursue excellence in my education and on the water. They also allow me to play basketball during the colder months on the BCS team and I love being a part of that too. I have enjoyed working at my own pace in school and love that I can continue working ahead where I am strong. It is exciting to be in Spanish 2 this year, which gives me high school credit and helps me learn the language better as I travel to South America often with waterskiing. I am blessed to have the support of a Christian organization like BCS as I work towards my goals.
